AUDITIONS

The auditions for Leaving The Lawn will take place on Saturday, 28th November 2009 in the Auditorium of Flowerfield Arts Centre, Portstewart from 12pm onwards. The main entrance and car park at Flowerfield are around the back of the big house. Just go through the double doors and you're there.

Please prepare a short piece (2-5mins) of contemporary drama (we don't want to see your Shakespeare). This can be an extract from a play, something you've written yourself, or pick a scene from your favourite movie if you like. If you need someone to read the other part(s) in the scene please remember to bring a copy.

We are mainly looking for men and women to play age 30(ish), though there are a few other parts for older and younger actors. We are not auditioning persons under 18 years of age at this time.

Unfortunately we cannot afford to pay anyone for their participation in this project.

Please be aware that if you are successful, some of the characters in the script will be required to use strong language and, as the synopsis above suggests, simulate drug use. If this is going to be a problem for anyone, you should make us aware of it IN ADVANCE.

You can just show up on the day and audition if you don't mind waiting, but those of you who email us in advance will be seen first.

Experience is not necessary, but if you think you can act, we'd like to see you.

Also, if you think you can be of use behind the scenes, doing whatever we just don't have enough hands to do ourselves (technically, you'd be an Assistant Director) we'd like to hear from you.

Good luck!
